Day 2

Day 2 of Insanity was....well....insane.  This might have been the longest day ever...and that didn't help.  Just gotta keep pushing.  Plyometric Cardio Circuit definitely kicked my butt....I hope I get better at this.

Getting fit.

Today was day 1 of my Insanity Workout: The Fitness Test.  It was also Day 3 of going Diet Coke Free!  Three cheers for me.  I'm a true addict, and giving up soda was hard.  In fact, I've tried it a gazillion times.  I knew it wasn't good for me.  I knew it wasn't good for my body. However, it wasn't until after I read an article on Yahoo ( Diet Soda Article) , in which it talked about diet soda leading to obesity, kidney disease, etc.....I decided it was time to give it up.  It helps that I just bought two of those double walled tumblers with straws.  They're pretty awesome, and I drink way more water with them than I ever did before.  Seriously, I was like a camel....and most of the liquids I consumed were Diet Coke...disgusting I know.

So back to the Insanity Workout.  I go to boot camp, usually about 2 times a week, and I try to fit in body works (strength training) once a week too.  At the advice of my doctor, after a prolonged pinched nerve in my shoulder, I want to start going to yoga too.  Other than having pretty bad allergies, and sometimes allergy induced asthma, I consider myself to be in pretty decent shape. I've even decided to eat better!  However, I still am not happy with my body image right now.  (I blame this on the super skinny women in China and HK who have convinced everyone that all Chinese women should be tiny...not just in height but in weight too!)  That's why I decided to try this Insanity 60 day challenge.

Day 1 was much more challenging that I anticipated.  I work out fairly regularly, so I thought I'd do okay, but I now see that those weeks off when I went to Florida this summer and the days I take off here and there have taken a toll.

Here are my results for Fitness Test #1:
Switchkicks : 70
Power Jacks: 53
Power Knees: 89
Power Jumps: 35
Globe Jumps: 6
Suicide Jumps: 17
Pushup Jacks: 18
Low Plank Obliques: 36

So my goal when I take this test again in two weeks is to improve in all areas.  No pain, no gain right?  Let's hope I can keep this up!
